Tennis federations of Belarus, Russia discuss joint tournaments

President of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko met with Head of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev, BelTA learned from the NOC press service.

The meeting was also attended by Chairman of the Belarusian Tennis Federation Sergei Rutenko. The parties discussed Belarus-Russia cooperation in sport, plans to hold joint tennis tournaments, and cooperation with international sports organizations.

Shamil Tarpishchev recounted his meeting with the Belarusian president on 13 April and also talked about the upcoming tournament in Minsk on 15 and 16 April. The head of the Russian Tennis Federation expressed confidence in further fruitful cooperation with Belarus.

After the meeting, Shamil Tarpishchev toured the museum exposition, got familiar with the achievements of Belarusian athletes, saw the exhibits of Olympic champions Max Mirny and Victoria Azarenka, and the current World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka.
