Smolski secures silver for Belarus at Russian Winter Spartakiad

The biathlon event is underway in Zlatoust as part of the 2024 Russian Winter Spartakiad of Best Athletes, BelTA has learned.

The Tuesday competition program opened with the Men’s 20km Individual featuring 79 athletes, including five Belarusians. Only two biathletes produced perfect shooting. One of them was Olympic silver medalist Anton Smolski of Belarus. The leader of the Belarusian national team clocked 54:38.6 to finish 28 seconds behind winner Evgenii Sidorov from Krasnoyarsk Territory (who also shot clean). Bronze went to Vasily Tomshin from St. Petersburg.
The other Belarusian athletes finished as follows: Pavel Belko placed 21st, Ivan Tulatin – 23rd, Dzmitry Lazouski – 26th, Maksim Varabei – 28th. Three Belarusian athletes earned four penalties each.
The Women’s 15km Individual will feature four Belarusian athletes: Dzinara Smolskaya, Hanna Sola, Iryna Leshchanka and Darya Kudayeva.
