Sasnovich, Rakhimova reach Hong Kong Open doubles semifinal

Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus and Russia's Kamilla Rakhimova have advanced to the semifinal of the Hong Kong doubles event, BelTA has learned.

In the quarterfinal match on 29 October, the Belarusian-Russian duo dominated the American-Japanese pair of Sabrina Santamaria and Moyuka Uchijima, 6-1, 6-0, in just 50 minutes.

In the round of 16, Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Kamilla Rakhimova secured a three-set victory over the Chinese-Filipinese tandem of Hao-Ching Chan and Alexandra Eala, 3-6, 6-1, 10-7.

On 28 October, Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich (World No. 111) lost in her first-round singles match to World No. 11 and Olympic champion Belinda Bencic of Switzerland, 3-6, 4-6.

The Hong Kong Open will conclude on 2 November.
