Sabalenka reaches French Open semifinal

No.2 seed Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus ended the run of world number 192 Elina Svitolina of Ukraine in Paris with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the quarterfinal of the French Open to move through to the Roland Garros final four for the first time in her career, BelTA has learned.

The match lasted for an hour and 36 hours.
For a place in the Grand Slam final Aryna Sabalenka will next face world number 43 Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic. The Belarusian saw off Ukraine's world No. 39 Marta Kostyuk 6-3, 6-2, in the opener, overcame a spirited effort by fellow Belarusian Iryna Shymanovich (world No.214) to prevail 7-5, 6-2 in the second round, defeated Russia's Kamila Rakhimova (world No. 82) 6-2, 6-2 in the third, and moved past Sloane Stephens (world No. 30), 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 to advance to her first French Open quarterfinal.
The tournament on the Paris courts will end on 11 June.
