Sabalenka passes Siniakova test to progress in Wuhan

Belarus’ world number two Aryna Sabalenka opened her Wuhan 2024 campaign with a 6-4, 6-4 second-round victory over World No.37 Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic in an hour and 33 minutes of play, BelTA has learned.

Sabalenka's Round of 16 opponent will be World No.36 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan. Aryna Sabalenka won the event in 2018 and 2019. The ongoing edition will be over on 13 October. The winner will earn 1,000 points and $525,100.
