Sabalenka makes fourth straight Australian Open final

Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus reached her fourth straight Australian Open final on 29 January, BelTA has learned.

The world No. 1 opened the semifinals with a convincing straight-sets victory over Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina (world No. 12), 6-2, 6-3. The match took 1 hour 18 minutes to complete. Aryna Sabalenka has been dominant this tournament, dispatching France’s Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah, China’s Zhuoxuan Bai, Austria’s Anastasia Potapova, Canada’s Victoria Mboko, and U.S. Iva Jovic, without dropping a single set. Aryna Sabalenka has won the Australian Open twice in a row (2023, 2024), and in 2025, she was defeated in the final by Madison Keys of the USA.
In the second semifinal match on 29 January, Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina (No. 5) will face Jessica Pegula of the USA (No. 6). The women’s final of the season’s first Grand Slam tournament will be held in Melbourne on 31 January.
In the opening men’s semifinal match on 30 January, two-time defending Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner of Italy (No. 2) will take on ten-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia (No. 4). The second semifinal match will feature world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz of Spain against Germany’s Alexander Zverev (No. 3). The men’s tournament final will take place on 1 February.
