Sabalenka advances to Strasbourg 2020 semifinal

Belarus' world number 12 Aryna Sabalenka reached the Internationaux de Strasbourg semifinal after seeing off world number 62 Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in a match that was thwarted by rain, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian saw off Australia's world number 239 Ellen Perez 6-4, 6-3 in the opener and secured a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Russia's Anna Blinkova, ranked 59 in the WTA.

Aryna Sabalenka will next face Ukraine's world number five Elina Svitolina.

The competitions in Strasbourg will be over on 26 September. The French Open 2020 will start at the Roland-Garros courts on 27 September.
