Ramanouskaya, Aramnau named Athletes of Year 2019 in Belarus

World champion (Aerials) Aliaksandra Ramanouskaya and weightlifter Andrei Aramnau were named Athletes of the Year 2019 in Belarus. The traditional poll among journalists was conducted by the Sportivnaya Panorama newspaper.

In February 2019 the Belarusian aerials skier won gold at the FIS World Championships 2019, marking one of the best achievements in her sport career so far. Andrei Aramnau clinched silver at the World Weightlifting Championships in Pattaya (and also silver in the snatch and bronze in clean & jerk).
The top ten athletes of 2019, according to the media, also featured Volha Khudzenka and Maryna Litvinchuk (canoe sprint), Aryna Sabalenka (tennis), Volha Silkina (modern pentathlon), Maksim Nedasekau (athletics), Uladzislau Hancharou (trampoline), Yauheni Tsikhantsou (weightlifting).
Belarus' beach soccer team was named the Team of the Year 2019 after advancing to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Belarus' kayak and canoe team was also named the Team of the Year 2019.
The Coach of the Year 2019 title went to Vladimir Shantarovich (kayak and canoe). The top three also included Gennady Galitsky (kayak and canoe) and Viktor Shershukov (weightlifting).
The Sportivnaya Panorama newspaper held the poll for the 61st time. Taking part in the poll were 91 journalists, with each of them naming their top ten.
