Paralympics 2024: Belarus’ Ihar Boki clinches his 20th champion title

Belarusian swimmer Ihar Boki has won the 20th gold medal in his Paralympic Games career, BelTA has learned.

On the fifth competition day of the 2024 Paris Paralympics Ihar Boki clocked 23.65 to clinch gold in the Men’s 50m Freestyle – S13. Silver and bronze went to the athletes from Ukraine. Belarusian swimmer Dzmitry Salei finished 8th.

This gold became the 20th champion title for Ihar Boki in his Games career and the fourth one claimed in the capital of France. At Paris La Défense Arena the Belarusian won in the Men’s 100m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke, 400m Freestyle. Ihar Boki won five gold medals at London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 each, and six gold medals at Rio 2016.

On 3 September Ihar Boki will compete in the Men’s 200 Individual Medley. Yahor Shchalkanau (Men’s 100m backstroke – S9) and Anastasiya Zudzilava (Women’s 200m Individual Medley – SM13) will compete for spots in the finals.
