Ivashka, Sasnovich off to good start at Miami Open

Ilya Ivashka of Belarus cruised past Daniel Altmaier of Germany, 6-2, 6-1, in the Miami Open first round, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian will next face Norway's world number 4 Casper Ruud on 24 March.

Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus opened the tournament against Dalma Galfi of Hungary where the Belarusian prevailed 6-3, 7-6 to set a second-round matchup against Barbora Krejcikova of the Czech Republic.

Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka will start their Miami Open run from the second round. Indian Wells finalist Aryna Sabalenka will open against Shelby Rogers of the United States, Victoria Azarenka – against Camila Giorgi of Italy.
