HC Minsk women's team became the second in the Russian Field Hockey Cup

The Minsk women's hockey club team won the 2025 Russian Field Hockey Cup in Kazan, BelTA has learned.

Six teams took part in the girls' tournament. In the group stage, the Belarusians beat the St. Petersburg national team (6:0) and lost to Dynamo-Elektrostal (1:4), advancing to the playoffs from second place. In the semifinals, our hockey players were stronger than the Moscow Vostok (2:1), but in the final they again failed to cope with the representatives of Elektrostal (3:4). As a result, they became the second, Minsk goalkeeper Yulia Priemko was recognized as the best goalkeeper of the competition, and Krestina Popkova was named the best midfielder. 

At the same time, the Russian Cup among men's teams was held in Kazan, where HC Minsk and Brest Builder performed. Both Belarusian clubs took the third place in their groups, having suffered two defeats each, the hockey players from the capital beat the national team of St. Petersburg in a shootout. As a result, Minsk and Brest met in a duel for the fifth place, where the capital's club won - 4:3. Dynamo-Elektrostal also won the men's trophy.
