Brest Sprint to welcome swimmers from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan

Brest Aquatics Palace will host the international swimming tournament Brest Sprint on 5-6 October, BelTA learned from the regional sports center.

The competition traditionally opens the season for the national swimming team. The event will feature athletes from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, a total of 740 swimmers.

Junior events will also make part of the competition program, with athletes to compete in the age groups of 11 to 16 years old and older. Each athlete will be able to participate in no more than four individual programs.

Brest Sprint will take place in a 50m short course pool. The tournament will open with a junior 100m freestyle event. The program will also include 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly, 100m medley and 100m backstroke. The second competition day will feature 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke, 100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly events.

From 17 October to 6 November, Belarusian swimmers will join a training camp in Brest ahead of the Belarusian Open Short Course Championship.
