Belarusian skiers clinch three medals at Children of Primorye

Belarusian athletes have won first medals at the first international winter sports games Children of Primorye which are underway in Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus.

Aliaksandra Parfionava of Belarus clocked 11:34.30 to clinch gold in the Women 5km event in Vladivostok. Her fellow teammate Yelizaveta Pugacheva clinched bronze. Lyudmila Torubarova of Belarus finished fourth. Belarus’ Siarhei Parfionau claimed bronze in the Men 7.5km event, clocking 16:30.20.
Belarus’ Sofia Sporish secured bronze in the 500m as part of the short track event hosted by Ussuriysk. Her fellow teammate Varvara Kurilo crossed the finish line 4th. Gold and silver medals went to athletes from China.
The first international winter sports games Children of Primorye are featuring more than 1,000 young athletes from Primorye Territory, Far Eastern Federal District of the Russian Federation, as well as Belarus, China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Uzbekistan. Team Belarus comprises 28 athletes. The program of the competitions includes cross-country skiing, snowboarding, alpine skiing, curling, figure skating, short track, ice hockey and phygital hockey.
