Belarus win Mixed Relay at Russian Biathlon Championship

Belarusian athletes won the Mixed Relay at the Russian Biathlon Championship in Tyumen, BelTA has learned.

The event featured 11 teams, including two Belarusian quartets. Belarus-1 team comprised Kseniya Varabei, Maksim Varabei, Hanna Sola and Pavel Belko. Kseniya Varabei completed the first leg in the third position. Hanna Sola was also third at the second exchange. Maksim Varabei improved to the second and Pavel Belko beat Kirill Streltsov from Moscow Oblast by 0.3 seconds at the finish line. 

Belarus-2 team featuring Yelena Kulak, Irina Shakleina, Mikita Labastau and Stsiapan Danilau placed 6th. Belarus claimed a total of four medals at the Tyumen stage of the Russian Biathlon Championship. Dzinara Smolskaya won the Women’s Super Sprint, and claimed bronze in the Single Mixed Relay together with her husband Anton Smolski. Ilya Auseyenka finished second in the Men’s Super Sprint.
