Belarus win 11 medals at Oleg Karavayev Memorial Tournament in Minsk

Belarusian athletes claimed 11 medals at the Oleg Karavayev Memorial Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament that was held at Chizhovka Arena in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Competing at the competitions which took place for the 29th time, were athletes from Belarus, Russia and other CIS countries. Belarusian wrestlers bagged one gold, one silver and nine bronze medals. Aliaksandr Liavonchyk claimed the champion title in the men's 67kg event. Yaraslau Kardash clinched silver in the men's 63kg event. Bronze medals were collected by Maksim Stupakevich (under 55kg), Maksim Kazharski, Hleb Makaranka (both under 60kg), Uladzislau Pribylski (under 63kg), Andrei Samets (under 72kg), Dmitry Navitski (under 77kg), Shuai Mamedau (under 82kg), Kiryl Maskevich (under 97kg), Dzmitry Zarubski (under 130kg).

Russia won nine gold medals at the tournament. The Russian team claimed a total of 26 medals.
