Belarus' Sabalenka makes first US Open final

Belarus' world number two Aryna Sabalenka has made the first US Open final in her sporting career, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian battled through world number 17 Madison Keys of the United States, 0-6, 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (10-8), to advance to her second major final. She will next face world number six Coco Gauff of the United States.

The men's semifinals will feature reigning US Open champion, world number one Carlos Alcaraz of Spain against Russia's world number three Daniil Medvedev and Serbia's world number two Novak Djokovic against world number 47 Ben Shelton of the United States.

The main draw matches will be played on the Flushing Meadows courts through 10 September. The total prize money for this year's US Open is $65 million. Winners in the men's and women's singles will earn $3 million each. Last year the US Open was won by Carlos Alcaraz of Spain and Iga Swiatek of Poland.
