2021 IIHF World Championship page goes online

After the IIHF approved the new dates of the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship, which will be held in Minsk and Riga from 21 May to 6 June 2021, the official page of the tournament has gone online, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation.

The page (iihf.com/en/events/2021/wm), dedicated to the world championship runs in English, Russian and Latvian. News about the upcoming tournament can be found on the official social networks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and VKontakte. The first promotional video of the upcoming world championship has already been released. The schedule and ticket sales information will be announced at a later date.

The 84th edition of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will be co-hosted for the fourth time in the history of the tournament. This time the co-hosts are Belarus and Latvia. This decision was made at the congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation in Cologne in 2017.

Minsk will host Group A: Russia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Denmark, Belarus and Great Britain.

Riga will be the host of Group B: Canada, Finland, USA, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Italy, Kazakhstan. Minsk Arena will be the venue of the final game on 6 June.
