On 6 January, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Belarusian women who are getting ready for a space flight.

Member of the main crew Marina Vasilevskaya and member of the back-up crew Anastasia Lenkova arrived at the Palace of independence. The women are getting ready for the space flight at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. It is expected that the space flight will take place this year.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the women a Happy New Year and Merry Christmas and presented flowers and watches to them. “Don’t get the times wrong… I have set the Belarusian time,” the head of state said jokingly.

“You are going to fly to outer space, aren’t you? Haven’t you changed your minds?” the President wondered.

The women answered with confidence that their plans remain the same, and that the space flight will definitely take place.

“We will be waiting for you here,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of state asked Marina Vasilevskaya and Anastasia Lenkova if their training programs are the same. “The main thing is not to be jealous. You will not miss out. You were chosen from millions of women,” the head of state said.
