Belarusian, Polish actors to read Pan Tadeusz online

Actors of the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater and Aleksander Wegierko Drama Theater (Poland) will host a joint online reading of Adam Mitskevich's poem Pan Tadeusz on 21 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the theater.

Pan Tadeusz is a true Belarusian-Polish cultural treasure, the largest work of the famous poet and publicist Adam Mitskevich. In 2014, Nikolai Pinigin staged the play of the same name (based on the poem) at the Kupala Theater. The same year the play was shown in Paris, the city where Adam Mitskevich wrote Pan Tadeusz,” the theater said.

Taking part in the online reading on the Kupala Theater's behalf will be Pavel Kharlanchuk-Yuzhakov, Marta Golubeva, Kristina Drobysh, and also Belarus' People's Artist Aleksandr Podobed. The Polish theater will be represented by Krystyna Kacprowicz-Sokolowska, Danuta Bach, Jolanta Borowska and Katarzyna Mikiewicz. Producer is Elena Ganum.

The online readings can be joined free of charge from any corner of the world.
