Belarus is ready to share its R&D accomplishments in the area of unmanned aerial vehicles and healthcare, including the creation of a tomograph, with partners in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission told BelTA after Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agribusiness of the Eurasian Economic Commission Artak Kamalyan met with Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Aleksandr Shumilin.

The State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus expressed readiness to cooperate with the Eurasian Economic Union in the sphere of certification of technology parks and research organizations, in the usage of Belarusian R&D products in the area of unmanned aerial vehicles and healthcare, including the creation of a Belarusian tomograph. Apart from that, Artak Kamalyan and Aleksandr Shumilin agreed to take a close look at the initiative of the State Science and Technology Committee to spread in the Eurasian Economic Union the positive experience of interaction between Belarus and the European Union in the development of technological forecasts.

Aleksandr Shumilin stressed that Belarus is in favor of expanding scientific, technical, and innovative cooperation in the Eurasian Economic Union, including by means of setting up Eurasian technological platforms, by implementing union interstate programs and including a chapter on scientific and technical cooperation into the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty. Aleksandr Shumilin believes that an EAEU venture investment fund may be set up on the basis of the Eurasian Development Bank in order to finance joint projects.

The adoption of an interstate program by the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on producing and providing space and geoinformation products and services on the basis of national sources of remote Earth sensing data may become an example of successful cooperation in this field. The heads of government of the EAEU member states are supposed to discuss the program at the next session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in July 2020.
