Valery Belsky to lead Belarus-Russia Parliamentary Assembly's delegation at IPU assembly in Bahrain

 Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Valery Belsky will lead the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia to Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain where it will participate in the 146th assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and related proceedings in the observer capacity on 11-15 March, the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia told BelTA.

Participants of the IPU assembly are expected to exchange opinions about matters concerning assistance with peaceful coexistence and inclusive society, problems of global security and fight against cybercrimes, matters concerning the work of parliamentarians with a view to fighting climate change, achieving negative carbon balance of forests, and preserving biodiversity.

Founded in 1889, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is one of the most respected international organizations. At present it unites parliaments of 178 countries and 14 associate members. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia has been a permanent observer under the IPU since April 2001.
