Rapota: No violations of constitutional norms at Belarusian presidential election

The presidential election in Belarus was organized well and took place without violations of constitutional norms, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told reporters on 10 August, BelTA informs.

The CIS observation mission included five representatives of the Union State Permanent Committee. “We think that the election was organized well and took place without violations of constitutional norms,” Grigory Rapota said.
Representatives of the Permanent Committee visited 56 polling stations, including 33 polling stations during the early voting and 23 polling stations on the main election day. “As far as the observation of the law and the constitutional norms is concerned, we have not noticed any violations,” the state secretary said. However, in his words, in some cases people stayed in voting booths for a long time causing queues. “It's absolutely okay from the legal point of view, but it involves the ethics of attitude to people around you, your compatriots,” he said.
