Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko will deliver his annual State of the Nation Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on 3 August, BelTA learned from the National Legal Internet Portal.

In accordance with Decree No. 294 of the head of state of 24 July 2020, the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic shall convene for a third extraordinary session in Minsk on 3 August 2020 to hear the president's annual State of the Nation Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and to consider other issues. The decree came into force on 24 July,” reads the statement on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The head of state said earlier that the event had been scheduled for mid April. However, it was postponed because of the pandemic. “Some issues are difficult to predict. We need a clear forecast, which is unavailable today. We need time to analyze the situation in the country and beyond its borders and only then say something to our people,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said during one of the working visits to the regions in April 2020.
