Belarus' Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko will take part in events that will be held on the sidelines of the CIS Heads of Government Council meeting in Moscow on 16-18 December, BelTA has learned.

According to the Belarusian head of government, the meeting will be held at Russia's initiative in the run-up to the start of Russia's chairmanship in the CIS. “The goal is to take stock of this year's work of the CIS and other integration structures, outline plans for next year, and resolve pending issues. This will be done not only within the multilateral format, but also on a bilateral basis,” said Roman Golovchenko.

As CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev previously said, the participants of the meeting are expected to adopt a statement that will outline prospects for cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the Commonwealth countries.

In addition to that, during his visit to Moscow, the prime minister will visit an enterprise of the United Confectioners holding, as well as the Russia International Exhibition and Forum and the exhibition and trade center of Belarus at VDNKh. Roman Golovchenko is also set to meet with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
