Early voting for the Belarus presidential election will be held on 4-8 August. Early voting is meant for voters who will not be able to cast their ballot on election day, BelTA reports.

Polling places will be open from 10:00 till 14:00 and from 16:00 till 19:00. Voters will not have to explain why they will not be able to come to the polls on election day. In order to receive a ballot paper, voters should present their passport or a military ID (for army conscripts), an official ID (for civil servants and employees of state-run organizations), a driving license, as well as a pensioner ID, an ID of a disabled person (provided this ID has a photo) and a student ID. If a voter lost his/her passport or this passport was stolen, they need to present a certificate from the police confirming his/her identity.

Early voting is not held at polling stations set up at sanatoriums and health resorts, hospitals and other inpatient healthcare facilities. There are 231 of them. All in all, 5,767 polling places have been set up for the 2020 presidential election, including 44 abroad.

There are 6,844,932 eligible voters in Belarus.
