Belarus' security chief attends meeting of secretaries of CIS security councils in Moscow

State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich is attending the annual meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the CIS countries in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

In his video address to the participants of the event, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that regular meetings of the secretaries of the Security Councils are important for strengthening collective security in the CIS. According to him, the participants of the meeting will discuss the situation in the CIS region and in the world, outline joint steps to counter modern challenges and threats. The secretaries of the Security Council will also discuss ways of ensuring social and political stability in the CIS in the context of growing external threats and a number of other topical issues.

The annual meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the CIS member states is held for the 11th time. The previous one took place in the Russian capital in November 2022.
