Belarus presidential election: Turnout at 7.81% on first day of early voting

On the first day of early voting in Belarus' presidential election, the turnout was 7.81%, BelTA learned from the Central Election Commission.

The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast - 8.95%, Vitebsk Oblast - 7.45%, Gomel Oblast - 7.01%, Grodno Oblast - 6.08%, Minsk Oblast - 8.52%, Mogilev Oblast - 7.25%, Minsk - 8.54%.


A total of 44,361 national observers are monitoring the voting process in the country.


Early voting is taking place from 21 January to 25 January 2025. Early voting is meant for people who will not be able to come to  polling stations on 26 January. During early voting, precinct commissions will work from 12:00 to 19:00 without a break.


The main election day is scheduled for 26 January. Voters will be able to cast their ballots from 8:00 to 20:00.
