Union State MPs to discuss aligning Belarus’, Russia's family support laws

A meeting of the Labor, Social Policy, and Healthcare Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State will take place in Kaliningrad on 20 March, BelTA learned from the PA press service.

“Meeting participants will discuss proposals for harmonizing Belarusian and Russian legislation regarding the implementation of new support measures for families with children, including the practice of introducing a corporate demographic standard, taking into account regional practices using Kaliningrad Oblast as an example. The organizational and legal foundations for social and labor rehabilitation of young disabled persons will also be considered,” the press service said.
MPs will summarize the results of the Union State budget execution for 2025 on matters within the commission’s purview, analyze the outcomes of the Union State events: Together We Can Achieve More Festival of Creative Work by Disabled Persons and Organization of Sanatorium-Resort Treatment for Veterans and Disabled Persons of the Great Patriotic War and Combat Operations in 2025, and also review the preparations for their implementation in 2026-2027.
The meeting agenda includes studying the best practices of the regional project Older Generation, which will be presented by Kaliningrad Oblast, and discussing preparations for the Union State rally of older citizens “We Are for Active Longevity” in 2026-2027. Additionally, the development of the Union State Capitals of Culture event for 2027 will be considered.
Representatives of the Union State Standing Committee, and the Culture, Labor and Social Security Ministries of Belarus and Russia have been invited to participate in the meeting.
