Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic Sergei Rachkov commented on the report by Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Nazarov "On the performance of the industrial, petrochemical and energy industries and their development prospects in light of the current global trends" at a joint meeting of the houses of the National Assembly of Belarus in the Oval Hall of the Government House in Minsk on 28 October, BelTA has learned.

"The vice premier reported on the growth of the Belarusian manufacturing industry, industrial output and export and growing budget revenue on the back of higher exports of goods and services. Of course, the government has been working on the measures to mitigate the sanctions imposed on Belarus and I think this is quite fair. We got quite clear answers to all questions.”

The government keeps the situation under control. "On the one hand, the government has crafted the measures to counter the sanctions. It takes action to respond to unfriendly acts where there is an opportunity to do it without detriment to us. On the other hand, the government has been promoting import substitution," Sergei Rachkov said.

The senator stressed that there are very large companies in the country. "Ensuring their sustainable operation is important. For this, they need new capacities. The government keeps an emphasis on the production of buses and trams, the financing of Integral producer. In other words, the vice premier reported on the state of the country's economy and on its prospects," he said.
