Belarus and Russia keep the momentum of cooperation and integration interaction going, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a event held at the Russian embassy on 10 June to mark upcoming Russia Day, BelTA has learned.

“The upcoming Russia Day can rightfully be considered one of the symbols of modern Russia - a united, powerful, economically developed country. In the current conditions of global instability, Russia is actively forming a system of international relations based on the principles of equality, friendship, mutual understanding, preservation of traditional cultural and spiritual values,” the prime minister said.

Today the citizens of Russia, just like their ancestors, are united by a common responsibility for the fate of their homeland, Roman Golovchenko said. This continuity is based on the historical memory of generations of Russians about the heroic past of their country, pride for its achievements in the present and the desire to ensure its prosperity in the future.

“Belarus and Russia are good neighbors, reliable friends and strategic partners. The two countries keep the momentum of cooperation and integration interaction steadily going,” Roman Golovchenko said.

According to the prime minister, there has never been such a high level of unity and mutual understanding, such a significant advancement in all areas in the interstate relations between Belarus and Russia for the past three decades.

“The official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Belarus last month and the agreements reached during it testify to the fact,” Roman Golovchenko added.
