Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko extended Happy Easter greetings to Belarusian Orthodox Christians, BelTA learned from the president's press service.

"The multi-million Orthodox world celebrates Easter today - a holiday of great joy, spiritual renewal and confidence in the brighter future,” the president said. “Our hearts resonate to the ancient traditions of Christianity and, like previous generations, we do good deeds, take care of loved ones, help those who need support and compassion, and advocate peace and tranquility for all our fraternal peoples."

Belarusians' commitment to creation, deep respect for shrines and readiness to preserve their faith are a solid foundation of our unity and social harmony, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The head of state wished: "May the Easter celebrations fill your hearts with joy of family, hope and love. I wish you all happiness, health and mutual understanding."
