Lukashenko to attend meeting to discuss Belarusian People's Congress selection process

The procedure for selecting delegates to the Belarusian People's Congress will be discussed at a meeting of the Constitutional Commission with the participation of the president, Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Chairman of the Constitutional Commission Piotr Miklashevich told reporters on 18 August, BelTA has learned.

“The procedure for selecting delegates must be considered very carefully, since this body will be given  significant constitutional powers. Therefore, today we have had a broad discussion whether to keep the current procedure or to go for other options. The final decision has not yet been made. Different points of view will be reviewed during a meeting of the Constitutional Commission with the participation of the head of state," Piotr Miklashevich said.
