Lukashenko signs decree to regulate repayment of state support spent on housing construction

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed decree No.239 on reimbursing rendered state support on 31 July, BelTA has learned.

The document stipulates that citizens, who are on the housing register and are authorized to build homes in places of their military service or state civil service, employment with a government agency, can be granted state support only if they keep doing their jobs for at least 10 years later on.

If the condition is not met, the citizen will have to repay the state support he or she and their families have received.

State support will have to be repaid only if the person is dismissed from military service, quits state civil service, or the job in the government agency upon their own volition or due to discrediting circumstances.

The decree also stipulates categories of citizens, who will not have to pay back the state support they have received: large families, families with children with disabilities, citizens, who have reached the retirement age or the length of service or citizens, who have been fired due to poor health condition.
