Dmitry Mezentsev and Natalia Kochanova held a dialogue

Secretary of State of the Union State and Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalia Kochanova discussed the issues of the Union agenda, reports the official telegram channel of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

In the context of the dialogue, Dmitry Mezentsev informed Natalia Kochanova about the results of today's meeting of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, as well as about the progress in the preparation of the meetings of the Council of Ministers and the Supreme State Council of the Union State.
The State Secretary emphasised that the practice of interaction within the Union State today has a new scale and depth. The content of the dialogue and the level of trust between the republican and federal ministries and institutions are becoming an important resource for the integrative Union agenda.
During the discussion of the next edition of the Union State magazine dedicated to the 11th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, Dmitry Mezentsev expressed the opinion that the practice of work of the two upper Houses of Parliaments on enhancing interregional cooperation between the subjects of Russia and the regions of Belarus is far-reaching and promising.
Natalia Kochanova, in her turn, noted the importance of the collaborative plans and events held by the Council of the Republic and the Council of Federation to strengthen interstate cooperation. In particular, she praised the results of the Fourth Eurasian Women's Forum.
As one more practical step to develop cooperation, the President of the Council of the Republic proposed to focus on expanding passenger traffic between the two countries and regions, increasing the number of passenger trains. Natalia Kochanova also stressed the significance of the decision to create a high-speed railway between Minsk and Moscow.
In addition, the participants of the dialogue discussed preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
Natalia Kochanova noted the importance of the ‘’Train of Memory‘’ project, which is carried out under the leadership of the Council of the Republic and the Council of the Federation with the active assistance of the Russian Railways and the Standing Committee of the Union State.
The State Secretary of the Union State also reported on the consideration of the initiative to add to the ‘Victory Train’ a carriage dedicated to the partisan movement during the Great Patriotic War. Natalia Kochanova supported this idea and noted that the presence of the ‘Victory Train’ in Belarus always evokes great interest.
