In the modern world, a lot of attention is paid to rational consumption. People are encouraged to bring their own reusable containers when purchasing various goods. Belarus is not behindhand with the world.
“Soon, the ban on selling food products using buyer’s containers will be canceled. Consumers will be able to use their own containers, some kind of reusable packaging to purchase certain goods,” Inna Gavrilchik said.
At the moment, MART and the Ministry of Health are working together to introduce appropriate amendments to the legislation which will allow consumers to use their own containers when purchasing goods. It can be both their own plastic
bags and reusable packaging.
Currently, according to sanitary and epidemiological requirements, it is forbidden to sell food products using customer’s dirty containers and printed paper.
MART believe that these changes will contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals, as well as will allow consumers to save on packaging. It should be noted that Belarus is planning to ban disposable plastic utensils in public
catering starting from 2021.
