Belarus’ Damaratskaya wins Russian Winter Spartakiad speed skating bronze

Russia’s Chelyabinsk is hosting the speed skating event as part of the 2024 Russian Winter Spartakiad of Best Athletes, BelTA has learned

The competition program opened with Women’s 500m, where Belarus’ Hanna Damaratskaya clinched bronze in 38.67 seconds. Silver went to Beijing Olympics medalist Angelina Golikova from Moscow. Darya Kachanova from Nizhny Novgorod (38.26) secured the champion title.
The program on 14 February will include the Men’s 500m, the women’s 3000m and the men’s 5000m.
Skaters will compete in the 1000m and the team event on 15 February; the 1500m on 16 February; the women’s 5km and the men’s 10km on 17 February; and mass starts on 18 February.
The 2024 Russian Winter Spartakiad of Best Athletes has featured over 2,500 athletes competing in 16 Olympic sports, including biathlon, bobsleigh, skeleton, Alpine skiing, curling, speed skating, short track, cross-country skiing, Nordic combined, ski jumping, luge, ski mountaineering, snowboarding, figure skating, freestyle skiing, and ice hockey. The competitions will be over on 18 February.
