Russia's Udmurtia seeks to buy more Belarusian products

Belarus' Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov met with Mikhail Khomich, Permanent Representative for the Head of the Udmurt Republic under the President of the Russian Federation– Deputy Prime Minister of the Udmurt Republic, on 1 November, BelTA learned from the public relations department of the Economy Ministry.

The meeting was also attended by trade representative of the Russian Federation in Belarus Yuri Zolotarev.

“The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation, namely agriculture, scientific research, tourism. Special attention was paid to increasing the export of Belarusian vehicles, tractors, dairy products, cosmetics to Udmurtia,” the public relations department said.

The Russian partners showed interest in Belarus' expertise and knowledge in breeding and seed production of potatoes and flax, and cooperation in this area.

Aleksandr Chervyakov and Mikhail Khomich believe that it is necessary to amplify bilateral cooperation with specific projects involving the business of both countries. An agreement was reached to arrange a visit of a delegation of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization to Udmurtia in December to present the investment potential of Belarus, including the zones with preferential regimes.
