Russia’s Komi Republic delegation tours MAZ, eyes road machinery, buses

A delegation from the Komi Republic of the Russian Federation, led by Prime Minister Dmitry Bratynenko, visited the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ). BelTA learned from the press service of the enterprise which MAZ equipment caught the delegation’s attention.

Vladimir Dormash, Deputy Commercial Director for Passenger Equipment Sales - Head of the Passenger Equipment Sales Department at MAZ, drew the guests’ attention not only to the extensive range of passenger vehicles but also to the diversity of MAZ’s special-purpose machinery. He emphasized that this equipment is distinguished by its versatility, reliability, and high technical specifications, which is why it holds a significant share of the Russian Federation’s market.

The tourist bus MAZ 350 sparked particular interest among the business circles of the Komi Republic. Dmitry Bratynenko noted that Russia has no manufacturers producing passenger transport with a capacity of 61 seats, yet such buses are essential for the region to transport sports teams.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed the pressing issue of supplying the region with the necessary equipment. Special attention was paid to combined road machinery and the prospects for renewing the bus fleet. Additionally, financial instruments that could make procurement more accessible were examined.
