U.S. secretary of state to visit Belarus on 4 January

U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo will travel to Belarus on a working visit on 4 January, Anatoly Glaz, Head of the Information and Digital Diplomacy Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told BelTA.

“Indeed, we are preparing such an event in cooperation with the U.S. side. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo's working visit to Belarus is scheduled for 4 January 2020,” Anatoly Glaz said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs specified that when in Minsk Michael Pompeo is set to hold talks at the highest level, to meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and to hold other events. “It is expected that the parties will review the full range of issues of Belarusian-American relations and the topic of regional security,” Anatoly Glaz said.
