This visit is the first official visit of the Hungarian leader to Belarus. The talks are preceded by an official welcome ceremony.
Aleksandr Lukashenko and Viktor Orban are expected to discuss trade and economic cooperation, and the implementation of joint projects. Belarus and Hungary have made great progress in bilateral relations, however, the potential in expanding cooperation in various areas is still hugely untapped. The parties are also set to discuss cooperation between Belarus and the EU, including within the Eastern Partnership format. The talks will also touch upon the situation in the region and worldwide, and approaches to addressing the most urgent issues.
