Treasure your land. There is no better place in the world than Belarus, especially Polesie. I have been everywhere. There is no better place than this one. We will be doing our best to create conditions for you to provide for your families. Let us develop this land for ourselves and our children. Let us preserve our sovereign and independent Belarus. This is our land. Our children will live here. Treasure this. We are going through a difficult time. Not just us. Many countries. There are a lot of problems everywhere,” the Belarusian leader said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that no one waits for Belarusians abroad. It is better to build their lives in their own country. “Even if someone needs you, it is just work in the field, strawberry harvesting in Poland or Germany, for example. It is better to work here, at home, and do useful things in your spare time” the president said.
The head of state cited Petrikov as an example of how to find an additional source of profit, jobs, and how to involve unused areas into economic use. “A lot of facilities in Petrikov stood idle but the infrastructure is good there. I suggested setting up greenhouses there using electricity. There is enough electricity in the country. I am ready to get involved and help,” he said.
