Kochanova to represent Belarus at Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament in Vienna

Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova will represent Belarus at the 13th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament in Vienna, BelTA learned from the press service of the upper house of parliament.

The summit will kick off on 6 September and will focus on the role of women in the fight against the pandemic and gender-responsive recovery from it.

Natalya Kochanova has sent an address to the participants of the Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament. She noted that Belarus has accumulated valuable experience during the fight against the pandemic, implemented a set of sanitary and medical measures to treat people and combat the spread of the COVID infection.

“To ensure the safety of doctors and the population we have organized our own production of personal protective equipment, have worked out the logistics of treatment and observation of patients with mild illness at home and with severe ones at hospitals. We have developed a system of sanatoriums for rehabilitation of COVID-19 patients and launched the production of Sputnik V vaccine at Belarusian enterprises. Vaccination of the Belarusian population is in active phase,” the chairperson of the Council of the Republic said.
