Belarus' FM meets with new UNICEF representative

Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Tanja Radocaj, newly appointed UNICEF Representative in Belarus, on 11 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vladimir Makei congratulated Tanja Radocaj on her new appointment and arrival in Minsk and wished her fruitful work in Belarus.

The parties discussed cooperation on the UNICEF 2021-2025 Country Program for Belarus. The new program was approved by the UNICEF Executive Board in New York on 10 September. Its main goals are to protect children from violence, create a safe and healthy environment for children, including in the cyberspace, and develop the restorative justice system for underage children.

The parties also discussed UNICEF's assistance in combating the coronavirus pandemic in Belarus.

Vladimir Makei updated the UNICEF representative on the social and political situation in the country.
