The West views Belarusian manufacturers as serious rivals, member of the Communist Party of Austria, member of the parliament of the Austrian federal state of Styria, member of the Leoben municipal council Dr. Werner Murgg said in an interview with a BelTA journalist. The Austrian politician is on a visit to Belarus as part of the delegation of the Austria-Belarus Friendship Society.

“Belarusian machinery is well known all over the world. Belarusian tractors, vehicles boast good quality and reliability. Belarusians are doing a great job. They have managed to keep their manufacturing industry alive, unlike many other countries,” the MP said.

“Therefore, Belarusian manufacturers stand in the way of Western concerns: Belarusians are their rivals. The West does not want competitors. This is one of the reasons for escalating the situation around Belarus,” Dr. Werner Murgg is convinced.

The Austrian delegation has been in Belarus for four days. The delegation members are holding meetings and press conferences, touring enterprises, studying the real situation in the country.
