Belarus will be training medical personnel for Pskov Oblast, Governor of the Russian region Mikhail Vedernikov told the media, BelTA has learned.

"An agreement on cooperation and strategic partnership has been signed between Pskov State University and three universities of Belarus. The main focus is on the medical personnel training programs in Belarusian universities. The region has, unfortunately, a deficit of almost 50% today," Mikhail Vedernikov said.

The Belarusian universities have a very good educational base, he noted. Pskov Oblast is also ready to offer various training programs to students from Belarus. "Moreover, we have contracts with a number of Russian universities, including the Higher School of Economics. Students graduating here receive double diplomas," he said.
