Russian troops coming to Belarus ahead of Zapad 2021 army exercise

The first few trains carrying Russian troops and hardware will arrive in Belarus on 21 July as part of preparations for the Belarusian-Russian strategic army exercise Zapad 2021 [West 2021], the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

The Belarusian-Russian strategic army exercise Zapad 2021 will focus on using force groupings to ensure the military security of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

The Zapad 2021 exercise will take place in army training areas in Belarus and Russia on 10-16 September.
