Russian paratroopers leaving Belarus after joint army exercise

Russian paratroopers and military hardware are leaving Belarus' territory after taking part in the Belarusian-Russian army exercise Slavyanskoye Bratstvo 2020 [Slavonic Brotherhood], the Russian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

Russian paratroopers started loading hardware and personnel on trains at a railway station in Brest on 25 September in order to leave the country and move to their permanent stations.
The source reminded that on 23 September military transport aircraft IL-76MD of the Russian Aerospace Forces airlifted a battalion tactical group of Russian paratroopers and air dropped them in Belarus as part of the exercise.
A solemn closing ceremony took place in the army exercise area Brestsky. The military personnel, who had demonstrated outstanding skills in the course of the exercise, were awarded. Paratroops from the Belarusian army and the Russian one exchanged commemorative gifts and thanked each other for joint work.
Over 900 Russian military personnel and about 100 units of Russian hardware took part in the Belarusian-Russian army exercise Slavyanskoye Bratstvo 2020, which took place in Belarus on 14-25 September.
