Russian FM to attend CSTO events in Minsk on 22 November

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in a joint meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils in Minsk on 22 November, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said at a news briefing on 15 November, BelTA has learned.

"The event will be held under the chairmanship of the Belarusian side, in Minsk, on the eve of the regular session of the CSTO Collective Security Council," Maria Zakharova said.

During the joint meeting the parties will exchange views on the military-political situation in the CSTO area of responsibility and adjacent areas, review the multilateral cooperation within the CSTO and prospects for further development of the CSTO collective security system, Maria Zakharova noted.

"It is expected that the heads of delegations will approve a number of joint documents," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
