Vladimir Putin recalled the previously signed treaty on security guarantees within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The document came into force in 2025. In his words, this document is aimed at protecting the sovereignty, independence, the constitutional order of Russia and Belarus, the integrity and inviolability of the territories and the external borders of the two countries and of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
“I am convinced that together with Belarusian friends we will continue doing everything we have to do in order to ensure military security with all the forces and assets our countries have,” the Russian president stressed.
He said he was confident that the joint work of representatives of both countries during the current session of the Supreme State Council will contribute to further advancement of Belarusian-Russian partnership and allyship, to the promotion of equal and mutually beneficial integration, and to higher living standards of the citizens of Belarus and Russia. “Actually, this is what we work for,” Vladimir Putin said.
