Participants of CSTO drills en route to Belarus

Participants of the CSTO joint and special drills Interaction 2023, Search 2023, Echelon 2023 and Barrier 2023 are heading for the Republic of Belarus, Press Secretary of the CSTO Joint Staff Vladislav Shchegrikovich told BelTA.

“In the period from 25 to 29 August, participants of the CSTO joint and special drills Interaction 2023, Search 2023, Echelon 2023 and Barrier 2023 will be arriving in the Republic of Belarus. The CSTO contingents (collective forces) will be coming from the CSTO member states to the areas of the drills in accordance with the plan,” the spokesman said.

In 2023, the CSTO is holding a series of drills as part of the joint operational and strategic exercise Combat Brotherhood 2023. Joint and special exercises will be conducted on the territory of Belarus and will involve various elements of the troops (collective forces) of the CSTO: the Interaction 2023 joint exercise involving the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force that will practice the use of forces and means of the CSTO collective security system to resolve the crisis in the Eastern European region; the Search 2023 special exercise involving forces and means of reconnaissance; the Echelon 2023 special exercise involving the logistics support forces of the CSTO troops; the Barrier 2023 special exercise that will involve the CSTO Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection and Medical Support Unit.
